Five 2002 Statehood Quarters (Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, Mississippi) presented as a “Gold Edition” with aftermarket 24K gold plating in a display holder. These sets were widely marketed by TV/catalog dealers as novelty collectibles; the underlying coins are standard circulation strikes with a thin decorative gold layer applied after minting. Attractive for display, but they do not contain significant gold value and trade at modest premiums over face.
